Your quarry cameras,
now on safety duty.

Kallpa watches haul roads, berms and loadouts on the cameras you already own, and keeps the MSHA safety program your inspector asks to see.

Each near miss your cameras catch becomes a dated line in your safety program, with the clip that shows it.

Running on your pit in one afternoon.

  1. 1

    Connect your cameras

Install the Kallpa agent on a site PC and paste each camera's RTSP address. The agent blurs faces before any video leaves the pit.

  2. 2

    Draw your zones

Trace haul roads, berms, crossings and the loadout on each camera view. Each zone names the hazard it covers in your program.

  3. 3

Get alerts and a current program

Alerts reach the truck radio relay and the foreman's phone. Your written program updates with each event, accident and equipment change.

Dust, glare and night change what a camera sees. We measure it at your pit before we quote it.

Detection rates publish at day 30.

During the pilot, your foreman confirms or rejects each alert from the phone. At day 30 you get the measured result for each condition at your site, and you decide.

Ask your pit anything.

Type or say a question. Kallpa searches your cameras and past shifts, then answers with the clips, faces blurred.

The written program Subpart T requires. Kept current by what your cameras see.

  • Hazards identified and analyzed. Each hazard in the register shows its event count, cameras and the controls you put in place.
    § 56.23003(a)(1)
  • Technology evaluated. Kallpa drafts the evaluation of collision avoidance, proximity tags and machine cameras with costs and your own data.
    § 56.23003(a)(3)
  • Updated when things change. An accident, a new truck or a moved walkway opens a revision for the responsible person to sign.
    § 56.23003(b)
  • Miner input on record. Miners comment on a revision from a QR code in the break room. Each comment shows in the revision log.
    § 56.23003(c)
  • Yours to keep. Export to Word or PDF at any time. If you leave Kallpa, the program stays with you.

What leaves the site PC

Kallpa watches machines and zones. It does not identify miners.

  • Faces blurred on the site PC. Video is blurred before it leaves your pit, so unblurred faces never reach our servers.
  • No face recognition, names or badge IDs. An event says what happened and where. It never says who.
  • Clips deleted after 14 days. A clip stays longer only when you attach it to an accident record.
  • Not for discipline. Our contract forbids using Kallpa events to discipline an individual miner.
  • A notice for the break room. Print a one page notice in English and Spanish that tells miners what the cameras watch.

About Kallpa.

Kallpa is a product of Kallpa Labs LLC, registered in Texas, United States. It turns the fixed cameras an aggregates pit already has into hazard alerts and the written mobile equipment program MSHA requires under 30 CFR 56 Subpart T.

Duff Corben founded Kallpa and runs it.

Questions owners ask us.

Do I need to buy cameras?

No. Kallpa reads the RTSP stream from IP cameras you already own. If a haul road has no camera, we name a model and a mounting spot, and you buy it wherever you like. We do not sell hardware.

Which cameras work?

Any IP camera that streams RTSP in H.264 or H.265 at 1080p. For night work we look for infrared range that reaches the far end of the zone. Most cameras installed in the last eight years qualify.

Where does the video go?

The Kallpa agent runs on a PC at your pit and does the detection there. It blurs faces, then sends only event records and short clips of each event. Live video stays on site.

Does Kallpa stop the truck?

No. Kallpa warns and records. It sends alerts to your radio relay, a yard horn or the foreman's phone, and it never controls a machine.

Will MSHA accept the program Kallpa writes?

MSHA does not approve Subpart T programs. Inspectors check that you have one, that it identifies hazards and evaluates technology, and that you update it. Kallpa keeps the dated evidence for each of those, and your responsible person signs every revision.

How accurate is it in dust and at night?

We measure it at your pit during the 30 day pilot and give you the result for each condition. We do not quote a detection rate before that.

What do miners see?

A printed notice that says what the cameras watch, what Kallpa keeps and for how long. Kallpa does not identify anyone, and our contract forbids using events for individual discipline.

What happens after an accident?

Kallpa opens a program revision, saves the clips from the cameras that saw the area, and lists the sections the responsible person should review before signing.

Can my insurance carrier see it?

Yes, if you choose. Send a read only link with event counts and program revisions. Some carriers count documented controls when they price workers' comp.
